The Partnership
Insurtech currently is among the fastest growing industries in Indonesia, yet faces huge challenges in hiring. One of the main challenges in hiring for Insurtech companies is the lack of specialized talent in the market. The insurtech sector requires a distinctive combination of skills, such as technical proficiency, data analytics, and understanding of the insurance landscape. However, several universities in Indonesia do not offer specialized programs in these areas, posing a challenge for companies seeking qualified candidates.
Upon joining the GIA Jakarta Batch 6 Program, attending curated workshops helped Protos Labs better understand the Indonesian hiring culture. One of the curated workshops hosted by GIA Jakarta was led by Andarini Sertianti from Michael Page, a job and recruitment agency. This workshop provided insights into the Indonesian job market, and enabled Protos Labs to make informed hiring decisions. Through the knowledge acquired, Protos Labs was able to successfully recruit a talented Indonesian UI/UX professional.
For over three decades, Purwadhika Digital Technology School has nurtured some of Indonesia's most promising digital talents.Their mission is to create and provide an education platform for Indonesians to learn about the latest trends in the digital world. When Protos Labs expressed its requirement for a UI/UX designer who could also represent the company in Indonesia, Plug and Play introduced them to Purwadhika.
By January 2023, Purwadhika introduced Adi, a UI/UX Design student, to Protos Labs. Within a month of this introduction, Purwadhika identified Adi, a talented UI/UX design student, and recommended him to Protos Labs. During his one-month probation, Adi proved to be a valuable team player, who demonstrated adaptability, responsiveness, and initiative on the job. As a result, Protos Labs hired him as a full-time UI/UX Designer and their first-ever Indonesian representative.
Recruiting Adi was one of Protos Labs’ first steps in expanding their business in Indonesia. By hiring the right candidate, Protos Labs was able to gain a deeper understanding of user and consumer behaviour in the Indonesian market.
