We are ending 2022 with our bi-annual APAC Summit, bringing together the best that innovation has to offer!
This is the first fully in-person event we’ve had in 2 years, with over 1,100+ total registrations for the 1-day event !! 🙌
The top minds in innovation come together at our biannual APAC Summit. During the one-day conference, we had 10+ exciting keynote topics and panel discussions, and over 50+ startups pitching to a network of business executives from large corporations, government officials, and investors.
Summit Kickoff + Financial Service Expo
This year, we began our summit with an all-exclusive open-innovation showcase which discussed the overall innovation ecosystem and introduced new partnerships with Visa, MiRXES, KSL Maritime Ventures, Nippon Life, and PEN Ventures. We are eager to explore and deepen our partnership further as we concentrate on funding innovative technology startups that will disrupt various industries.
We are also honored to have the Partner and Head of Digital Practice in Asia-Pacific of Bain & Company, Florian Hoppe and the Partner and Head of Digital Practice in Southeast Asia, Bain & Company, Adarsh Baijal for sharing the topic on "Charting the course for digital decade" where they delved deeper into the recent developments and insights regarding Southeast Asia’s digital economy.
Next up, we kickstarted our Financial Service Expo segment with a featured keynote topic, "Corporate Partnerships as a growth pathway for startups", by Senior Program Director of the Visa Accelerator Program, Fonzarelli Ong. During his keynote, he discussed more about the role of corporate innovation partners in unlocking growth for locally successful startups that are looking to expand into new markets.
Our panelists then took it away with their discussion on "Startups as an innovative channel for digital partnerships and service distribution", where they shared more about the various ways corporations can partner with such startups to amplify their reach into this valuable trove of engaged audiences to market their products and services.
This segment ended with our Batch 8 Financial Services startup pitches. These startups are leading the way with innovations in Fintech and Insurtech, focusing on ESG, Product Innovation, Metaverse, Frailty Detection, Web 3 Insurance, Travel Insurance.
Global Innovation Alliance Expo
Moving on to the next segment, we invited the Director of Global Innovation Network, Enterprise Singapore, Jonathan Lim, to share more about "Growing together through cross-border partnerships and vibrant community". His experience in strengthening linkages and partnerships with leading global innovation hubs around the world brought new exciting insights to the attendees.
We heard a total of 18 exciting startup pitches from our GIA program in Manila and Jakarta, covering various focus areas such as Edutech, Finsurtech, IoT, SAAS, Deeptech, Cyber Security, Healthtech, Enterprise tech, MedTech, Blockchain, Sustainability and more.

Global Overseas Acceleration and Learning Program
We then ended our morning session with startup pitches from our Global Overseas Acceleration and Learning (GOAL) Program. The GOAL program immerses participants in the global ecosystem and is designed to enable tech startups to pursue business development, fundraising, and other strategic opportunities in new markets. We work with government agencies, technology incubators, and universities to find, identify, and accelerate the most promising startups globally.
Sustainability Expo
We kickstarted our afternoon session with an insightful panel discussion topic on "The Race to Zero", where the panelists shared an insightful panel session about the challenges in reaching NetZero commitments in Southeast Asia and the key to fostering the success of commercializing enabling decarbonization technologies for the region.
We then heard from 7 startups, who are pioneering innovative business solutions for global corporations in sustainability-related technology, solving challenges in carbon emissions tracking, green supply chains, crew wellness, maritime green financing, and more.

Smart Cities Expo
With Plug and Play Thailand’s Smart Cities Program being the platform of success for building cities to be smarter and more resilient, we brought together the key players from all relevant industries across continents, connecting the best technology startups to corporations, governments, and investors.
The panel discussion featured corporate panelists from Southeast Asia's mobility, transportation, energy transition, and technology sectors, where they discussed more about building a resilient digital city, managing disasters, bridging the digital divide, decarbonizing the built environment, and urban mobility!
Last but not least, 14 disruptive startups from our Smart Cities Batch 6 program shared their perspectives on a range of topics, including Sustainability, Enterprise Tech, Mobility, Energy, Real Estate & Construction and Carbon Capture.

Startup Creasphere APAC Expo
Moving on to the last portion of the summit, we are pleased to have the APAC Innovation Manager of Roche Diagnostics Asia Pacific, Dr. Alfred Chng to share with us about the Startup Creasphere APAC program.
With Startup Creasphere, we developed a setting within our global ecosystem for testing out products and services, encouraging investments, learning from past mistakes, and encouraging global expansion.
Moreover, our goal is to establish a premier health transformation hub in the Asia Pacific where forward-thinking businesses and innovative startups can connect and forge deep connections in the healthcare industry.
