Bangkok, May 18, 2023 - ION Mobility, a tech and automotive OEM that launched its inaugural “Mobius” M1-S electric motorcycle at the Indonesia Motorcycle Show 2022 last November, today announced that it has selected Sharp as one of its key partners for the advanced 7-inch motorcycle Human-Machine Interface (HMI) that is equipped on its M1-S motorcycle.
ION selected Sharp’s next-generation 7-inch automotive-grade TFT LCD to serve as the display for its M1-S HMI. This display sports more than 200PPI resolution with 1000-nits brightness. Both Sharp and ION teams have collaborated closely since mid-2020 to tightly integrate Sharp’s TFT LCD into the rest of ION M1-S HMI to serve as the nexus of all vehicle and ride information. This was achieved by binding Sharp’s TFT LCD to a robust automotive-grade cover glass via a custom optical bonding process, in order to deliver the best anti-glare and overhead-sun screen experience befitting of ION M1-S premium product and customer experience.
