We launched our Insurtech Program in Singapore in August of 2018 to expand our startup sourcing capabilities and corporate engagement to Southeast Asia. Singapore is an ideal location for an Insurtech office due to its interconnection with other emerging countries in the ASEAN region, and vibrant startup and corporate ecosystems.

Plug and Play APAC held the Insurtech Selection Day for Batch 2 on 7th December 2021, aimed at startups from the insurance industry. The event was the second edition for the 14-week insurtech accelerator program that Plug and Play has been running, and provided a platform for startups to pitch their ideas to investors, corporates and industry experts.
The startups that participated in the event were from different regions, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, and the United States. They covered a wide range of areas within insurtech, such as distribution, customer experience, data analytics, and claims management.
The event was held in a hybrid format, with both in-person and virtual participation. The physical event was hosted at Plug and Play's Singapore office, while virtual attendees could join from anywhere in the world. Startups had the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a wide range of investors, including venture capitalists, angel investors and corporate investors.
The insurtech accelerator program is a comprehensive 14-week program that provides participating startups with mentorship, resources, and support to help them scale their businesses. It has been helping insurtech startups since 2019 to grow their businesses and secure funding.
The Insurtech Selection Day for Batch 2 was a great success and brought together promising startups and investors to support innovation in the insurtech industry.
