This is the first hybrid event we've had in 2 years, with over 2000+ online registrations, 400+ physical attendees and 2000+ total introductions made across the 2 days! 🙌
Our bi-annual APAC Summit brings together the best that innovation has to offer. The 2-day event featured 10+ exciting keynote topics and panel discussions, and over 50+ startups who pitched their innovative technologies to a network of industry leaders, corporations, governments, and investors.
Day 1 Morning - Summit Kickoff + Global Innovation Alliance Expo
This year, we kicked off our summit with an all-exclusive open-innovation showcase where our key leadership team shared their thoughts on the overall innovation ecosystem, as well as new partnerships with RightShip, SK ecoplant, Delightex, and Klaytn, which we are excited to delve deeper into as we focus on investing in bold technology startups that will disrupt the different industries.
Moving on to our GIA Expo segment, we were honored to have Global Markets Director of Enterprise Singapore, Chew Hwee Yong, kickstart this session by giving an overview of our Global Innovation Alliance program. He also shared more about how our Indonesia and Manila programs are expanding their operations within the region, to help Singapore startups expand their market reach to the largest emerging market economies in Southeast Asia.
We heard a total of 10 exciting startup pitches from our program in Manila and Jakarta, covering various focus areas such as Edutech, Finsurtech, Construction Tech, SaaS, Healthtech, Enterprise tech, MedTech, Blockchain and Sustainability.

Day 1 Afternoon - Financial Services Expo
Moving on to the second segment of Day 1, we held the expo for the 7th batch of our Financial Services accelerator. Fintech and Insurtech startups are spearheading the future of financial services in the region. In this expo, we invited Enny Halim, EVP, Business Development and Digitalisation of MSIG Asia, to share more about her company's perspective on the current General Insurance Trends and Innovation, and review the process of working with insurtechs sourced by Plug and Play!
During the keynote session, Enny also presented the success story of the partnership between MSIG and CoverGo, where they developed a new end-to-end Medical Insurance Management System that enables more efficient policy administration and claims management. Find out more about the case study here.
We then heard from 8 innovative Insurtech startups with whom we have been working closely.

Moving on, we heard from our Fintech startups. The session was kicked started by a corporate panel. Our panelists, who are from the corporate ventures and banking space, came together to discuss how financial institutions view crypto, web3 & NFTs and the various roles that these institutions play in promoting mass adoption of crypto use cases. They also explored the challenges and opportunities for the financial institutions in this paradigm shift. 5 Fintech startups then took it away with their innovative pitches.

Day 1 Evening - GK Plug and Play Showcase
We then ended Day 1 with 8 exciting startup pitches from our GK Plug and Play program. The GK Plug and Play program aims to accelerate the business of Indonesian startups in the rapidly-growing startup scene. The program focuses on three main industrial verticals, which include Fintech; Industry 4.0; and Sustainability. Each vertical hosts its own program to tailor to the needs of each area and help the respective startups through mentorship and networking opportunities.

Day 2 Morning - Sustainability Showcase
Moving on to the second day of our summit, we kickstarted the session with an insightful keynote session about scaling up green investments by Gwyneth Fries, Expert Senior Manager, Sustainability & Responsibility from Bain & Company.
We then heard from 3 startups from our ADB Ventures GOAL program whom we have been working closely with.
This segment ended with a featured corporate panel discussion about 'Defining Sustainability Across Industries', where our panelists explored how different industries are defining their strategy, what emerging technologies will be relevant to achieving their sustainability goals, and some examples of how they are driving commercialisation of these technologies into their business.

Day 2 Afternoon - Smart Cities Expo
With Plug and Play Thailand’s Smart Cities Program being the platform of success for building cities to be smarter and more resilient, we brought together the key players from all relevant industries across continents, connecting the best technology startups to corporations, governments, and investors.
This segment featured corporate panelists from the sustainability, energy transition and decarbonization sectors across Southeast Asia, and they shared first-hand industrial perspectives, case studies and investment opportunities from within the APAC region.
Moving on, we also heard from 12 disruptive startups from our Smart Cities Batch 5 program, covering various focus areas such as hydrogen, sustainability, blockchain, F&B, and health technologies.

Day 2 Evening - Food & AgTech Showcase
The last segment was kickstarted by our Ventures Associate, Jade Chenarak, who shared more about the food and agriculture market and its challenges in Southeast Asia. He also discussed the Southeast Asian investment trends in this industry and provided relevant ASEAN case studies for your reference!
Our panelists then took it away with their discussion on 'Agrifood Thought Leaders to Follow', where they discussed what thought leadership looks like in the Agrifood sector, the emerging segments of Food & Agtech that are promising, and the changes that need to be made for a more resilient and sustainable food system.
We then ended the last day of our APAC Summit with 5 exciting startup pitches from our Food & AgTech program. From automation and robotics to connected livestock, these startups presented solutions that will disrupt the entire industry.
